Owners of the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 in India can now install the stable version of Android 17. This release occurs one week ahead of the company's original schedule. It also represents the final step in retiring the OxygenOS software interface.
OnePlus previously built OxygenOS as a customized layer for Android. The system started with minimal changes to the base operating system. Over time, it became closely aligned with Oppo's ColorOS platform. The company announced the phase-out of OxygenOS when it reduced its global operations. Existing devices were told they would migrate to ColorOS.
The software had been available in beta testing for several months. The stable build is now reaching general users. OnePlus described the update as offering smoother interactions and smarter experiences. The company stated the update is built around the concept of "Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere." The goal is to reduce friction as users move between tasks and devices. The system aims to help turn ideas into finished work using artificial intelligence.
The initial rollout was planned for October 29, 2026. The stable release began on October 22, 2026. This shift moves the launch forward by approximately seven days. Only the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 are included in this first wave of updates.
Other devices have been confirmed for the ColorOS 17 update. This list includes previous generation flagships and various Nord models. The next wave is scheduled for October 30, 2026. That update will include the OnePlus 13.
The update is expected to reach other regions in the coming days. OnePlus has not confirmed specific dates beyond the India launch and the October 30 follow-up. The change follows a period of operational shifts for the brand. Reports indicated that the OnePlus 15 sold out in the United States after the company shut down most global operations. The company has also unveiled the OnePlus 16, which features a 9,000 mAh battery.
