High-end display technology typically commands a steep premium, but a price adjustment at a major retailer has lowered the barrier to entry for one specific model. Best Buy reduced the price of the Acer Predator XB27OU by $50 on October 23, 2026.
The monitor now costs $329.99. This 27-inch display features a QD-OLED panel, a technology that combines quantum dot color enhancement with the deep blacks of organic light-emitting diodes. The reduction places this specific hardware in the same price range as standard high-refresh-rate IPS monitors.
The screen measures 26.5 inches diagonally and outputs a maximum resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels. This resolution, often referred to as QHD, is considered a manageable load for mid-range graphics cards. Tom's Hardware notes that this specification allows users to maintain high frame rates without requiring top-tier components.
Speed is a primary feature of the XB27OU. The panel refreshes at 240 times per second. It also achieves a gray-to-gray response time of 0.03 milliseconds. This rapid pixel transition prevents motion blur and ghosting, issues commonly associated with slower display technologies. The monitor also supports AMD FreeSync Premium, which synchronizes the screen refresh rate with the game's frame output to eliminate tearing.
Color accuracy is another key aspect of this panel. The display covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It maintains a Delta E accuracy figure below 2, indicating precise color reproduction. The monitor supports HDR10 and 10-bit color, which increases contrast and brightness levels compared to standard dynamic range displays.
Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port. These inputs allow a user to connect a desktop computer and two gaming consoles to a single screen simultaneously. The price reduction makes this specific configuration available at a lower cost than typical for OLED gaming hardware.
