Naftali Bennett held a rally in Tel Aviv on Saturday night to demand a commission of inquiry into the failures leading to the October 7 massacre. The event was interrupted when a 23-year-old man from Givatayim was arrested for allegedly shoving one of Bennett’s bodyguards.

Witnesses reported that the man, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, attempted to approach the security detail while shouting “Only Bibi.” This slogan supports Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Guards instructed him to stay back, but he continued to push through the perimeter.

One security guard pushed the man away, but the suspect did not stop. He confronted the guard and shoved him in return. The altercation drew the attention of other staff, who subdued the man and held him at the scene while awaiting police assistance.

Officers from the local station arrived at the park and took the suspect into custody for questioning. An initial check confirmed he has no prior criminal record. Investigators are currently reviewing the circumstances of the confrontation to determine the charges.

Bennett served as prime minister from June 2021 to June 2022. The incident occurred days before the 2026 Knesset elections. IDF soldiers had already cast their ballots at military polling stations earlier this week.
