Anthony Lloyd, 38, vanishes from Lewisham clinic after forcing exit

Anthony Lloyd forced his way out of a Lewisham medical facility at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The 38-year-old man was last spotted heading toward Catford around 4:10 p.m. He has not been seen since. Police are now searching across London and seven other counties for him.

Lloyd is described as white, with a medium build and short dark hair. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall. When he left the health unit, he wore a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers. The Metropolitan Police issued a statement on Saturday confirming his location and appearance.

Lloyd received a 12-month prison sentence in 2025 for actual bodily harm. The conviction stemmed from an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers. He was transferred from a prison to the Lewisham medical facility in September. Detectives believe he may be anywhere in the capital but noted he has connections to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside.

Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley is leading the search effort. She said officers are conducting various inquiries to locate Lloyd and return him to custody. Pressley stated that the man poses a risk to both himself and the public. She urged members of the public not to approach him if they see him. Instead, she asked witnesses to call 999 immediately.

Pressley also appealed for public assistance. She asked anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact police urgently. The force provided a specific reference number for callers to quote: CAD4739/23Oct. This reference helps police track reports related to the missing prisoner.

The search currently covers the London area plus the seven counties where Lloyd has known links. Police have not specified a timeline for the operation. They continue to monitor the areas where he was last seen. The medical facility in Lewisham remains the focal point of the initial investigation.
